Metal Halide Lamps

Metal halide lamps are AC lamps in which the arc burns in an atmosphere of mercury vapour and halogenides. Based on the HMI family, further groups of lamps have been optimised for special applications, e.g. HSR, SharXS HTI, 4ArXS HSD and, most recently, the Lok-it! product group. Halogen metal vapour technology makes for high luminous efficiency for better colour rendering and colour temperature similar to daylight. Since the invention of HMI lamps in 1968, they have been continually developed and improved. Today the product spectrum encompasses double-ended and single-ended lamps, with and without an outer bulb, from 150 to 24000W.

HMI Metal Halide Lamps (single/double-ended)

Both single-ended and double-ended HMI lamps are used. The common single-ended HMI lamps have an outer bulb, which makes them less sensitive to environmental influences. HMI lamps provide the highest values of color rendering, along with a high luminous efficiency of up to 100 lm/W.

Lok-it! metal halide lamps (+ sockets)

The versatile Lok-it! system allows the application of discharge as well as halogen lamps providing free choice between individual lamp technologies and color temperatures. The specially developed lamp bases - PGJX50 and PGJX28 - are perfectly aligned with the corresponding lamp holder.

HTI (single/double-ended, with dichroic reflector) and SharXS HTI (Baby/SharXS/Maxi) metal halide lamps

HTI lamps are available in both single-ended and double-ended design, although HTI lamps do not have an outer bulb. The most important feature of HTI lamps is their high luminance, which allows the generated light to be collected and conducted particularly well.
